Estonia is hosting their second cohort of DIANA innovators in Tallinn

The second batch of the NATO DIANA Estonian Accelerator kicked things off in style last night during a packed opening event at Tehnopol.
Government, military, media, investors, test centres, mentors, and more gathered to meet the newest batch of dual-use startups at the beginning of their DIANA journey.

The audience was greeted by the Director of the Innovation & Technology Department at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, Sigrid Rajalo; the Minister of Defence of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur (via a video message); as well as the Mayor of Tallinn, Jevgeni Ossinovski.

Anne-Liisa Elbrecht, Head of Tehnopol Startup Incubator, and Pirko Konsa, Member of the Management Board of Sparkup Tartu Science Park, elaborated on the power of cooperation we leverage as consortium partners within the Estonian accelerator.

The Regional Director of NATO DIANA, Kadri Tammai, and Project Manager at the Challenge Team of DIANA, Nourhan Ibrahim, provided insights into the larger challenges and the programme's impact on the Alliance as a whole.

Our TOP7 of 2025 – Scaleout, Factiverse, ResQuant, IS-Wireless, Microamp, Telearmy, and Wayren – delivered concise yet engaging pitches in three minutes or less.

Łukasz Kulas, CTO of REVOBEAM, shared a perspective from someone who has experienced the process first-hand, as Revobeam was part of the NATO DIANA Estonian Accelerator's first batch and is now in phase 2 of the programme.

We concluded the evening by addressing questions about defence funding, needs, and testing in a panel featuring the CEO of Frankenburg Technologies, Kusti Salm; the CEO of SmartCap, Sille Pettai; and the Special Adviser for Defence Industry Development at Kaitseministeerium / Ministry of Defence of Estonia, Indrek Sirp. The conversation was moderated by Liisu Lass.
